Edius Neo 2: Do I need it?

Been playing around with my HMC150 for a while now and have used it on 3 wedding shoots. Was putting away the box for safe keeping and remembered that it came with Edius Neo 2 editing software. I'm already using Sony Vegas Pro 9. Do I need this software? Can I sell it? Or does it need a camera serial number or something like that in order to work?

Don't bother with it. If Sony Vegas is working for you then there's no reason to install Edius. As far as selling it... I don't know about that.

I've got no idea, I would check eBay (be sure to check "completed listings" on the left) to see what the going rate is. See if any other HMC150 owners are selling theirs on eBay, too.

Actually, Vegas is a little choppy on the preview once I add multiple tracks and filters. The clip will start off very slow and then playback realtime. But this happens after every transition, which can be a pain. Looking for a way to transcode. I like Cineform but the files are so BIG!

Well there's no way around the big file size. Either you save space and cause the CPU headaches decoding it, or uncompress it all ahead of time so the CPU doesn't need to do the work. And that, of course, takes up some space.

I think Cineforme is comparable to Pro Res and DVCPro HD, the other choices.
