Edius - conversion?

Probably it has been discussed already, but I would like to know a way how to edit "50i" footage by using Edius or Edius NEO. Namely, I defined the project as progressive 1980p25. After that I imported 50i MTS clip (25p in 50i wrapper) into Edius and marked it as progressive.
Then I placed it into the timeline (and checked it again that it is still marked as progressive). Then I exported the clip as Canopus HQ Fine and Canopus Lossless. The results are here (crop, 2x magnified):

Edius Canopus HQ Fine:
Edius_HQ_Fine2.jpg

Edius Canopus Lossless:
Edius_CanLossless2.jpg

You can clearly see some artefacts on both clips (you must click the pictures in order to enlarge them and clearly see the artefacts), even though Lossless is slightly better. On the other side, when importing the same MTS clip into VirtualDub (by help of AviSynth), and exporting the clip by using the same two codecs, I get the following result:

VD Canopus HQ Fine:
VD_HQ_Fine2.jpg

VD Canopus Lossless:
VD_CanLossless2.jpg

There is a clear difference. How do you edit with Edius (with 50i footage) in order to get rid of the mentioned artefacts??
