editing video card

I'm building a new machine. Thinking about a gtx 780 card vs a quatro 4000 . any thoughts? are the 780s in the cuda / mercury engine list for premiere cc? I'm currently using cs 6 on a pc but thinking of going CC with the new machine.

I'm specifically looking to get my timeline stretched out to 2 1920x1080 (Asus) monitors and also have the project window out to a 45 inch sanyo tv. doable with a 780?

Not much difference in price but the 780 ti they claim is 25% faster than the regular gtx 780

Be careful. That may be some kind of Gaming Speed Spec that wont necessarily apply to any Video Editing "result".

The 780 ti has 1300 more cuda cores, 1GB more ram and a faster clock speed than the regular 780...pretty sure this is definitely a plus when in comes to editing video.

I was going to get a Quadro 4000 but ended up getting a GTX 780 for my WIN7 NLE. Seems to work great. I have the previous generation Quadro 4000 in my MacPro.
Seems like the higher CUDA core count in the 780 helps. I was concerned about 3ds Max not working as well with the gamer card 780 but it works great too. I'm using CS6.
It's silly how they intentionally cripple the cards so one has more this while the other has more that, rather than one card having both and costing a little more ;)

A definite plus in some areas...not all.

CPU , not GPU, is the Export Engine.

That card does have super impresssive specs compared to my GTi 760 Super clock...but which I can report does an excellent job as well.

How true. Before these new cards came out the top card did it the best. Now theres several cards that do the same thing and do it well. That 25% increase on the 780 (as they call it) is probably is like splitting hairs compared to the 760. My gtx 670 worked fine for basic 1080 editing, if I wasnt going 4k I would've stuck with it. Hopefully now the 780 will be all I need for this unit, at least for a while. :)
