Editing using Premiere 6.5?

Ok i recently got my DVX and i have premiere 6.5. I heard that 6.5 cant handle 24p. What does this mean exactly? Do i need to upgrade to Pro 1.5 to get the best out of this camera?

6.5 WILL edit 24p. it just cant do the 24p extraction from the 60i stream the camera puts it into called "pulldown" you can use a program like "DVfilmmaker" www.dvfilm.com or snother program to do the pulldown though and then edit the true 24p file in p 6.5.

however i highly reccomend you upgrade to ppro 1.5 for naitive 24p pulldown. and a myriad of other better features

I'm in the same boat w/6.5. If I upgrade to 1.5, is there anything else I need to upgrade or should the software be enough?

In order to use PPro 1.5, you have to be running WinXP. Other than that, you should be fine.

should be all. may want to consider doing the video production bundle with AE and PS and Encore and Audition though... perhaps the pro version for AE pro? but as far as te editor.. just getting 1.5 would be fine.

iamloser has some good advice. Get the bundle! You'll need it later.
