Editing on MacBookPro 15" with hires monitor

[Heartfelt]

Got a new book and love it. Is FCPX the only real solution for editing? I had been chewing on it and premiere and today I just caught wind of poor playback on MBP with premiere due to the new engine and lack of cuda on this MBP.

Again, is FCPX the only performer here?

I am coming from Vegas on PC platform.

FCPX, Avid and Premiere are the main NLEs on the Mac.

I thought premiere would be but I have seen some posting around (not here) stating playback issues.

I wanted to touch base with you guys as I have a degree of trust after hanging out here. Any thoughts on the playback ability?

What type of playback issues are you referring to?

Saw people reporting choppy playback on full res and half res. I have that in Vegas with MTS footage once effects are placed. It just seemed people were insinuating that FCPX faired better on MBP.

maybe the cuda hack could help?
