Editing on Final Cut Express

hey all,

i've seen a lot of info about final cut pro but not much on final cut express

if i get a new macbook with fce, will i be able to transcode to prores and edit in express?

You will, but you do not have Compressor with FCE. You can use MPEG Streamclip to convert, and then edit in FCE.
