I started working on some project (basically, interviews shot in one room, using a black background) with my HVX205.
It's a good camera but I'm considering getting rid of it and buy a GH1 as it's way easier to carry around when going out.
I have various Edirol and Zoom equipment to record sound, so I'm not worried about that. And don't care much about the 30mn recording limit either as I usually have a pause every 15-20 minutes when recording interviews.
Question is: how well will the footage shot with the HVX205 'get along' with footage coming from the GH1? Will there be an easily noticeable difference in quality/color?
Also, considering that:
- I'm using FinalCut Studio 3
- HVX footage is 720/30p
- GH1 footage will be 1080/30p
How should I configure the timeline to handle the different resolutions? Should I convert the 1080/30p footage to 720/30p, for example using Apple ProRes codec?
Or should I better consider shooting in 720/60p with the GH1 and find a way to turn footage into 720/30p? If so, how?
