Editing from a sequence or "Event"

Im a 7 user

I just chuck all my clips on the timelne and then start my edit to the right of that on the T/L


I can scrub through my rushes, hit m to mark a good bit, or even just move it up onto the next track

If Ive got a ton of interview I set the clips to 200% speed and listen through really fast

You can do all that in X the exact same way if you want. But there are faster ways, that´s why we try to convince the OP to use X as it is designed to be used.

Yes, do the exact same thing in X, and clip scrubbing along with the magnatic timeline will make it even FASTER.

Highly recommend some proper training, such as Micheal Wohl's excellent series at macProVideo.com.
