I want to build a FCP, G5 based NLE for doing dvcpro hd based projects off the HVX I will be buying. I would like to have two monitors for editing (dell 2405FPWs) and a third strictly for monitoring video.
My question is, what is the best (cleanest, most accurate) way to monitor dvcpro hd footage when editing? Can I go though Firewire, through the HVX and view on a HD monitor all in realtime (like you would with DV-NTSC projects in FCP)? Can the hvx200 do this? If so, what outputs does the HVX have to do this (DVI, HD Component, etc)? Or, alternately, should I get a second video card and do a third monitor within the NLE?
