editing best formats?

hi everyone. i own a dvx100b, i edit with sony vegas 7.0.
i just wanted to know if someone can help me out with these.
whats the best format when creating a movie for dvd. avi or mpg or other?
what happens is after edit a movie the quailty of the movie is not the same
i deinterlance with sony. the picture isn't as clear as it was before i edit
any help would be great.

There's an entire section of these forums dedicated to Sony Vegas. That's where this should be posted in the first place.

That being said, you're not giving near enough information: What are your export settings now? import settings? WHY ARE YOU DEINTERLACING with Sony? your camera already shoots progressive. Isn't as clear where? on your TV? on your monitor? in Quicktime?
