Editing 720p footage to DVD

Im about to start a new project with footage from T2i and HPX170 (both in 720 / 25p / 16:9). Final edit will be going to dvd, but if possible I would also like to have a copy for myself in 720p (hoping to by a blue ray burner within the next few months and would try to burn a blue ray disc)

So what settings would I need to choose before starting the project? Would it be better to start it in 480p and just stick to SD quality or can I do the project in 720p and then export to dvd?

If you want HD, either now or later, edit in HD.

Export the final movie at current project settings, then use Compressor to convert to files for DVD. There are pre-sets in Compressor just for DVD-ready media.
