Editing 25p with a non-progressive NLE?

Hi.

Is it possible to edit my 25p footage with a non-progressive NLE such as Liquid Edition, then export it as a dv-avi and when making a dvd of it simply mark the video as progressive?

Will Edition make me lose quality?

As far as my experience. I used different versions of upper field and lower field, but at the end used progressive scan with no quality loss. Preferrably, it is better to use one mode and stick to it, so you dont got to re-render again. If you're using progressive, stick to it all the way, saves you time and a headache.
