I remember back when SD was the standard, Cyberlink Power Director used to have this ability to "smart render" the file so that only the parts that were changed are re-rendered/re-compressed and the rest of the files in the timeline is carried over whole-sale.
It both reduces rendering time tremendously and maintains quality.
Is there something like that for AVCHD? Particularly, 1080p23.976 out of my GH1?
I have tried the following without any luck:
I'm not a "I'm a pro so I'll have to adjust everything so this smart rendering thingy is useless for me". I normally only change certain small parts of the clips while leaving the rest intact so this will help a lot.
Thanks again in advance.

I have tried the following without any luck:
- Cyberlink Power Director: SVRT grays out, plus it only recognises PAL/NTSC, not 24fps.
- Corel VideoStudio X3: doesn't work. Some how read the length of my minute-long clips into the hours.
- Adobe Premiere CS4/CS5: both re-render.
