Hello, all.

Just giving you a heads up that Edelkrone is having a 20% off sale for their SliderPLUS and accessories until February 28:

https://www.edelkrone.com/us/p/138/...utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=sp20_offer

Has anyone here used the SliderPLUS? Is it any good? I've been looking at motorized sliders recently, including the SliderPLUS with the Target Module for video shoots, but I'd like to hear from people that have used it before plunking down a bunch of cash.

Thoughts?

Jaime:

I have not shot with it but read and watched plenty of reviews in my research phase before I bought a motorized slider and I strongly considered it before buying the Rhino EVO with Arc. The simple reason is, I shoot a lot of interviews, the Edelkrone is noisy, the EVO is not. If you want to use it to shoot second camera on interviews, you or your sound mixer will be frustrated. Too bad because I like the design and size, it's a cool idea. The Evo makes a little noise but not enough to mess with your audio as long as the slider isn't right bext to the mic. The Edelkrone, not so much.

Ah, thanks for that. I was just watching a review on YouTube that said the same thing. This would be mostly for sit-down interviews, so a noisy motor is a deal-breaker.

You got the Rhino EVO with Arc. So for full motion control I'd need the Rhino Slider EVO with Motion plus the Arc for panning, right? That adds up to $1800 (including the carrying case) which is similar to the Edelkrone SliderPlus with all the motion accessories included.

Thanks for the heads up about the motor noise!

Do you have a cheap slider? if you do, trade it in. If you don't own one, it would be worth it to by a used POS slider off of Craigslist for $50.00 to trade in for the Rhino Rebate. I bought https://rhinocameragear.com/collections/motorized-slider-bundle for $1448.75. I then sent them my crappy Konova slider and they gave me a $500.00 rebate that I used to buy the Arc, a 24" case and the flywheel. So I got the 42" slider, the 24" slider, the flywheel, the EVO Motion and Arc for under $1,500.00. Superior value to the Edelkrone too.
