So, I have an IF box on eBay. Some DSLR kid sent me the following as a 'question':
I had to reply...
Man, wouldn't it be nice if we could replace our IF boxes with $350 Beachtek adapters?
eBay User said:Thats so funy how people think this thing is worth anything over $150 The Beachtek DXA-SLR Pro is way better than your recording adapter and get this, the Beachtek DXA-SLR Pro can be had for $350 all day everyday and it has way more features than this sony box you have. Better preamplifiers, better noise reduction. better audio in with matched ballanced transformers. Limiters, just better quality everything. So check out the Beachtek DXA-SLR Pro here on ebay read up on the features and how great the recording quality is. Im not trying to be am ass but man you are waisting your time asking that price. I own the beachtek and id put it side by side in a recarding shoot out with your sony and i bet you all fingers would point to the $300 Beachtek DXA-SLR Pro

Viddovation on eBay said:With all due respect, the purpose and function of the Beachtek DXA-SLR Pro is entirely different from this piece of equipment, and neither one is an appropriate substitution for the other. The Beachtek is an audio processor, and I would concede that it certainly offers more audio fine tuning options than this Sony device. However, this IF box is a piece of specialty equipment that serves as a video & audio processor, embedding audio onto a video stream for the Sony F23 and F35 cameras. Considering this box shipped with a $250k camera package and had a replacement cost of over $10k from Sony, I suspect the quality of the preamps may rival or exceed the quality offered on the $350 Beachtek. However, this piece of equipment cannot be used with DSLRs. Please do not try.
