ebay hvx200

by being able to bid above the package price, they are prob hoping that high demand will make them more of a profit. (i.e. the prius). Has anyone heard from the differnet disty's they have depsots with (or reserved without depositon)whether they feel they will meet the demand of their waiting lists?

Studio Exchange is a good company, and yes, they are definitely Panasonic authorized dealers. Visit this link and enter their zip code, 91502, to verify. The person you want to speak to is Paul. They also have a brick & mortar presence along with their own website in addititon to their eBay sales.

Many legitimate companies have an eBay presence today like Zotz Digital, for example.

Otherwise, you can always go with our forum favorite Express Video Supply and speak to some of the best on the 'net: Rush and his team.

Well, I called EVS yesterday and they have my reserve. They said they will be getting about 4 in this month but will probably turn into rentals so it looks like January or February....

They are only getting 4 total? I thought I read where Rush said that had wanted to hold 6-7 for rentals but with high demand they would probably let those go to pre-ordered clients and only hang onto 3-4. If EVS, who claims to have placed a "very large order early on", is only getting 4 initially we are all in for a long wait!

Gosh.....I hope this isn't right.

Yeah, last I remember hearing, Rush said he was going to get a buttload in. The most in fact. I hope its not a slow trickle either because I need p2 !!

Rush was saying 75-100 units, that was my understanding.

I thought that was how many he ordered. From what I have gathered Panny will not be able to meet that amount on the initial shipment. I was hoping to see 20 or more.......that would still be well short of the entire order but better than "4". Let's wait until Rush clarifies what the actual situation is.

What a f**king rip off. P2 cards are a joke right now. As if anybody with a brain would pay that price.

our guy in albuqeurque said that each place would only get around 8 units on the first shipment. He may have been trying to get us to put a deposit down. It worked. He said there would be alot of dissapointed folks when they realized that the camera wouldn't be widely available untill January or February.

It would be great if we could get a statement about this from the 'horse's mouth'...
Hopefully Jan will see this thread, or someone will alert her to it!

I am here fellas, and I wish I could give definitive responses. They way it was 2 weeks ago, we were more sure, and that can change dramatically this coming week at DVexpo. I fielded 70 calls yesterday asking me about the HVX, and I told everyone, "please wait till DVexpo, things will be clearer". I am eagerly awaiting Jan's announcement myself. I will be at the expo, and I will have an HVX200 at the EVS booth for everyone to play with. But as far as being "sure"... Well I am doggone sure the sky is blue and the water is clear :)
I can tell you we are only keeping 2 cameras for rentals/demo, and that's a fact, every other camera is going out for sale, and a customer's position in line has taken that into consideration when I give out queue numbers. I can also say that there is going to be a great price reduction in the 4GB card realm, and sweet packages to come from Jan. I can also say that from what I know, we will most likely fill every order by end of January, whereas a lot of other dealers who ordered much later than us will be waiting till March. :)

PS Jan has a righteously busy schedule ahead of her this week, and I honestly couldn't get paid enough to fill her shoes right now. She is doing the legwork of 3 people, day and night, so we have to cut the slack mighty loose for her. I will post nightly from the expo, to give everyone insight, as I am sure others will too. This is gonna be a great week! :)

Thanks for chiming in with what you know, and for this useful reminder that Jan is slammed right now. I've just come out of a three month period of working 80+ hours per week so its easy for me to sympathize!

I'll email you now about getting on your list...

Thanks,
M.
