Ebay DVC80?

Gee, for the nearly $1800 they want for that DVC80, you can probably get an original DVX100 if you keep checking back here. Not that the DVC80 is a bad choice but it's basically a 60i camera. You might also consider the DVC30 which is being disconnected but I think you can still find it brand new in your price range.

To answer your original question, since the DVC80 you're looking at is being sold as used, grey market it not really an issue unless the menus are non-english or something. Panasonic's warranty only covers the original owner.

I want to buya dvc80 since I cant afford a dvx100, i found this seller on Ebay, is it alright to buy from a dealer like this, probably a grey market camera. Since the only dvc80 I will find anywhere else will be used aswel, does it matter that I buy a grey market camera?

I will add my 2 cents to this. I own a DVC80 and love it. So what if it only 60i? I think 24p on the DVX is overated myself. I've used this camera commercially and I believe it is worth every penny. They are no longer made, so the price of 1770 is a bargain. I've even had footage shot on my DVC80 upconverted to HD then to 35mm film and it looks great. Just remember it is NOT the camera that makes a movie maker. You can use ANY camera from Super 8 on up to make a great film. The end results lie in the expertise of the man behind the camera.

I agree with lifewriter. The DVC 80 is an excellent camera and since is has the same lens, CCD's, controls layout as the DVX 100 you will be totally impressed with the image quality and access to manual controls. Given is current market value (if you can find one) there is no match including the DVC 30. I have shot and sold video brochures, weddings etc. and am always happy with the outstanding Panasonic results I get with this camera!
