Easy Tape Question.

Its obvious everyone recomends the MQs, and to not switch tapes. Since I got my DVX100a I have been using the MiniDV DVM60-ME Panasonics. Appearently that is not the recommendation. My question is:

I am having my DVX100a proffesionaly cleaned, would it be ok to then start using the MQs?

Yes. Start with the MQ's when you get your cam back. You shouldn't have a problem.

Actually, your cam is completely broken and will only be useful for salvage parts...I'm sure that if you move it when powered down, you will hear a slight "click" or "clunk". Yeah, that means it's broken.

Lucky for you, I am willing to take this item off your hands, completely free of charge.

(PS - I am joking, your camera is fine, but I will still take it should you offer)

Im sure i wasnt the only one that took thier new cam out of the box....
