Hey everyone! Just joined today after a member from another forum suggested this site. I'm kinda new to this, with some professional experience. I was the Production Manager at a local TV station and decided to pursue my own interests! I fell into this during college, and I'm keenly interested in making this a career. This is my side project, I have another completely unrelated full-time job. But I'm trying to switch those job roles ;)

A little about me:

Final Cut Pro editor
Specializing in action event videography
Constantly seeking to expand my knowledge of video production/editing
Currently shooting with a Pano GS-250, actively looking for a DVX100B new or used!

Otherwise, I'm 26, active cyclist and triathlete. :)

Welcome Cracker, you'll fit just right in.

What key interests do you have within the massive filmmaking sphere?

Considering my hobbies, I'm trying to fill a niche that seems largely unnoticed locally. I'd love to film any athletic events, specifically bicycle races and triathlons, but I'm not limiting myself. I currently have a gig shooting/editing a TV show for a local professional wrestling association. I'm also trying to get in with the SCCA and shoot some auto-cross.

You will be surprised how many DVXusers who are into Sport Documenting.

Do you film run and gun style or any glide cam tools?

Run & gun at the moment. It actually seems to work for me, at the moment. I do need some glide cam tools.

Welcome. I think you will find this to be a very welcoming and kind community. That's one of the things I love about DVXuser, it is like a big family. There is always someone willing to help, whatever it may be that you need. If you ever need a writer, drop me a line!

PS: I am also an actor, but I noticed we live on two different sides of a country, so I didn't mention that above. But...if you are ever shooting in scenic Coarsegold, California, I'd be happy to help on set. Fat chance of that, though, this is not a big filmmaking area.

Kinda in the desert aren't you? :) Thanks for the offer, I love the Southwest so who knows where I'll be in the future! I spent 2 weeks in New Mexico and Colorado last November for no apparent reason.

Welcome to the list. You will enjoy the level of help that you can get with just a question or by just reading the new post and researching old post. Just about anything that you might want to know is here. I have made at least 20 stickies on my mac loaded with really great info that I don't think that I could live without. One of the interesting posts lately has been the Corrado post and it became a stickie on the site. Its under the film section. If you take the time to read about Adam and his project then you'll get an Idea of how great this list really is and how kind so many are to share their knowledge.

No, actually. Coarsegold is a mountainous small town in Northern Central California. About 30 minutes North of Fresno, California and about 30 Minutes South of Yosemite National Park.
