Easiest way to detect dropped frames?

The stutter in pans can be bad pan, dropped frames during capture or a playback issue. Haw can I find out the original capture dropped frames?

I do (PreRes LT). But how does a bad pan look much different from dropped frames?

Hi Uwe: Are you seeing dropped frames when you connect the cam directly to a TV monitor and play out directly from the cam? If so then the video was probably recorded that way. I'm not sure what would cause this (slow card? low battery? odd cam record settings?)

If it plays fine from the cam directly connected to a monitor, then frames are getting dropped somewhere else in your capture/post/compress processing ... or is your computer choking just trying to play a copy of the original video stored on your hard drive?

Which are you seeing there?

(Maybe this thread should be in the GH1 Workflow forum?)

Works fine (but Windows only I think).

At the time I look at it the SD card is already formatted.

I checked the Point Lobos files and they were all ok.
