Hi guys,

Could do with some help here please.

Im thinking of getting a 32GB E-series P2 card, however I'm getting conflicting advice.
I have heard that I will need a firmware upgrade as the HVX200-E won't accept the new E-Series.
Then I heard that it will except them but it needs the upgrade if I want to run any thing higher than 16GB, (up to this point I have been shooting on 8GB and SD), then I heard that the software that I have in the camera at the moment 4.06 will run the new E-series P2 cards, so I'm kind of confused as to what to do?
If it does need an update then how do I get the update from my mac onto an SD card?

Thanks for your time and help

I have a HVX202EN and I am using the 16Gb E series card. My firmware is 4.06 at the moment. I have erased clips and formatted the P2 in the camera without issues. I believe that if you have spanned clips from one card to another you may have problems especially if doing special frame rates with 4.06.

Thanks guys...

I got 32GB P2 E series card, have shot footage with it and played it back on camera seems fine, have yet to import any thing, fingers crossed.

I did notice it was slower in formatting the card than the 8GB A series card I have, don't know why that would be, maybe just because of the size????

The spanned clips... is that if I start footage on one card (E-series) and it automatically swaps to the other card (A-series) when the original card runs out of time?

Thanks guys

I'm using an 8GB A-series, and a 16GB E-series and have spanned clips with no problems. Not sure exactly what frame rates I've been using, but I do change it up frequently, so there's a good chance I've tried a few different ones.

I think it has to do with some the the special slow frame rates and loop recording. You may get errors when spanning cards. Anyway I have just done the firmware to 4.10.
