E-mount Telephoto zoom lens that's larger than 200mm or 210mm

Does this exist for the FS100? If not, are there any solutions for increasing the zoom on the SEL18200 lens, such as a teleconverter? Wish there were something like a 100-400mm lens. Is there such a lens that I could use with an adapter that anyone would recommend?

Whatever the solution, doesn't have to be the greatest lens...budget is a factor, but don't want anything awful either.

do you need electronic control, IS and AF?

just in cas you don't need it, get you a nex-nikon adapter and you have a huge variety of lenses available. I'm currently shooting with a Nikon 80-200 f2.8, with a 2X Teleconverter attached if i need to get really close... This combo will need a lenssupport though..

No, I don't need IS or AF. I will use this on a tripod. Would that be enough support? What would a setup like that cost?

i meant a lens support, which avoids a heavy lens to bend the mount downwards, or damage the mount, like on this pic:

i paid 600€ for the lens, 50€ for the 2X and had the support lying around
i did a test video of the lens without the 2X here: https://vimeo.com/63007235

Thanks for the info. That's more than I'd want to spend, but at least I know there are options out there. I'm hoping to find a lens and teleconverter for just a couple hundred dollars (US), if possible. I really don't care how great the quality is, as long as it isn't awful. Thanks again for the advice!

you can always get a 2X and a cheap 200mm prime lens or a descent zoom, just check ebay, there are loads of options there - but bear in mind that you loose 2 stops of light with a 2X!

You could try and find a cheap B4 to e-mount adapter, then put a ENG lens on it. The MTF one is wicked expensive though, I would try and find one somewhere else.

Bummer. That would solve my problem. Since I'm shooting in standard def, if the camera would just digitally zoom like most other cameras out there (without losing resolution, since I'm not using all the megapixels in SD), problem would be solved. Maybe they'll offer this function in a firmware update?

My solution would be a minolta md adaptor. £10 on ebay. then get a sigma 70-300 lens. It's f4-5.6 so you'll need to bump up the gain though that's still a faster lens than the kit lens. I have one of these lenses but I never need that reach anymore. I got it on ebay. I just checked and I got the lens for £32 quid on ebay.

It works well and is cheap. Even has focus, zoom and iris on the lens. All those minolta md lense are manual only.

Hope this helps. Michael.

I would second the Minolta option. I bought my wife a Minolta Maxxium SLR when they were new and the 75-300 and 35-70 lenses. I bought the Fotodiox adapter for A-E mount with aperture control ring just to try it out on the VG-10 and then the FS-100. I use the lens quite a bit and it reaches pretty far. I haven't gotten a teleconverter yet but have been toying with the idea since I've seen them on ebay for 50-60 bucks. I've seen the 75-300mm Minolta "Beer can" on ebay for anywhere from 60-150 bucks and I think I paid around 50 for the Fotodiox adapter. So you would be under 200 bucks for the whole sha-bang.

I'm using the Beer can lens on macro adapter rings a lot right now and the quality is fine for me.

I did add a support bar as it seemed to be "getting out there" to me but still lighter than the kit lens. I just used some scrap 1/4 x 1" flat aluminum as I didn't see the need to go to rails with it just yet, I don't think it's in that ball park for weight. I just mounted it to the two 1/4" mount holes on the camera and then to the mount.
