I think there was a thread about this earlier, but I could not find it. Many FS100 owners have experienced the outer ring around the E-Mount rattling. I took mine apart, for a totally different reason, but thought I would share some insight into this. First, other than the annoyance, it does not have anything to do with the optical path or the mount itself. The ring retains the lock button to keep it on the camera. There are two screws that hold it on by BARELY gripping the edges of the ring. As the thing gets pushed/pulled a bit, it loosens the two already lame screws allowing to move even more. The quick solution for us was to put an o-ring around the bottom of the ring and tuck it under the button release. It just keeps the ring under slight pressure and keeps it from rattling. Most people dont want to or shouldn't take the mount off like we did to fix it more properly. My motivation for posting this was because some people might be concerned that it may cause optical problems - it does NOT impact the optical path.
The screws I am talking about are the flat sliver ones to the left and right of the sensor port. They do a crappy job when that are tight, and they loosen easily.
