Re: Dynamic Range

yes we did, that is use more than 1. In fact we used 6 trays in an arri 6x6 mattebox and had it full for the entire production. What I mean by low power is the power of the filters, filters usually come in powers of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 3... 3 being the highest power.

I actually had some lowcons in my filter trays so I took a few grabs to show you what Lowcons do..  Ultracons are the same as lowcons except ultracons don't halo as much.

Both grabs taken at the same stop.

Re: Dynamic Range

yep...

I saw your pictures on the other thread...

I'm so impressed, it does much much more better than tweeking the gamma settings.

That is EXACTLY what i was searching for.

thanks a lot Jarred Land.

My DVX100A will be equiped whit a couple of those filters next week for shure.

I'll use mattebox filters for the anamorphic lense...
Tiffen says they have it for 4X4 mattebox

Re: Dynamic Range

yeah.. you should see how good it looks with the +3 :) or a +3 and a +2 :)

Re: Dynamic Range

So i'm even more impressed...!!!
I thought this picture was taken with 2 stacked filters...@#@#*!

he he...these things will turn the DVX into a very capable 35 mm filmaker. (OK... i'm exagerating a little ...)

BUT, for me, it is the very best imagery improvement for the DVX i've seen so far.

thanks again !
