Seems like our own Lawrie Jaffa AND Sarah Daly have been keeping secrets from us. Some of us may recognize the style from his movie "Empire".

Short Film Bound for Sundance

Award winning filmmaker, Lawrie Brewster and screenwriter Sarah Daly, of the production company New Age Film Ltd, are having their work exhibited at the world renowned Sundance Film Festival.

This achievement began with Irish screenwriter Sarah Daly’s submission of a short comedic script, to the world’s first open source production company, hitrecord.org, brainchild of Hollywood star Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The story; Morgan M. Morgansen's Date With Destiny soon came to the attention of Joseph Gordon-Levitt himself. The recent Golden Globe nominee so enjoyed the piece that he recorded a voice over reading, which was first uploaded to the site. The response from members was hugely positive.

Seeing the potential of the project, Gordon-Levitt created a visual spine for the film, starring himself and up and coming actress, the beautiful Lexy Hulme.

So have you seen the film Zaza? I found he'd refined his use of surreal imagery quite well. The coupling with Sarah's rather unusual story was done well and I really can't imagine seeing this movie any other way. Huge steps from Empire.

Wonder if Mark Harris got to see it at Sundance. Apparently they liked it so much they made it an official short and opened it in front of another film.

Yes... I have... over at HitRecord. Very cool film and some of Lawrie's best work as far as I'm concerned (even though he put himself in it). I think the mix of Sarah's writing and Lawrie's VFX style is a natural! Two very talented people. If you head over to HitRecord, you can follow the whole progression of the project and it's very interesting. http://hitrecord.org/

I believe that's where both Sarah & Lawrie have been hanging as of late...and who can blame them?

Hey it's all about moving forward. I like to see any of us DVXUsers moving forward in their chosen profession and gain a little notice or even get paid for it. Someone you can root for on a personal level.
