Don't sweat the stars guys. I'd really prefer we disable the whole ratings system because I'm sure Jarred and the rest of us mods would prefer to do other things than mediate users ratings issues.
 
And it's so easy to not understand what someone intends without voice inflection and tone. Darn you internet!
 
:) I was in the Panera parking lot earlier tonight, but I got things working at home by editing my HOSTS file. So I'm in my warm cozy room now. Most Panera Bread restaurants have free wifi access and if they're closed--there's the parking lot. :embarasse

can somebody open a poll about who wants the old DVXuser interface and who wants to stay with this one?????

That does seem strange. Why would one complaint knock off a star, and one positive not bring it back?

Unix, I don't think we can go back to the old interface. There are apparently more reasons to keep this one than there are to go back. It'll all get ironed out.
 
The stars are kind of; worthless.

I had COX all up in arms last night. They had me up in Tier 3 Support; basically as we are all concluding; they think its a DNS or Router issue.
 
Judging from the last few posts here, I think the "stars" need to go.

Now that there are "I added to your reputation" posts, and complaining.

Children........it's all meaningless

personally i love the new site functionality now that im used to it.. it really doesnt feel any differnt from the old site now that im settled in. it has alot more options and nice features too. im actullay really happy with it. it seems fatser and more responsive as well. the stars should go though. jarred took them out and put them back in because someone asked him to. but i think theres more who would rather see them go.
 
I think we have a case of either people being weird about it in making negative remarks to bring stars down or people doing the complete opposite and pumping them up. Seems kind of silly. We all know who the real macks are. :)

alright, I'm the ass. I thought the reputation system was a cool idea (and asked jarred to reinstall it), but it's obviously weighted far more towards the negative then the positive. I'm sure a bunch of us have given positive rep points to pptphoto by now and his rep isn't improving.

Also, I've given at least two points to hudson so far and his is still at three.

So, I'm the ass. I thought it would be a cool addition to the site, but it obviously doesn't work right.
 
I *thought* I remembered Barnes asking Jarred to reactivate the rating system (against his better judgement). :happy: Ok, we'll get the tall man to deactivate the feature.
