Yeah, my computer couldn't find the site since about Saturday. I'm on a school computer right now.

Just the opposite for me the past two days.

Someone's (ahem, Jarred) DNS entries probably got messed up.

What I ended up doing was telneting into my server in PA and doing an nslookup from there to get the IP address, which I then entered in my HOSTS file.

So. Pass this on to anyone you know with the same problem. Add this to the HOSTS file:

66.225.229.195 www.dvxuser.com

(Or just browse to http://66.225.229.195/V3 for the time being)

I was having internet connection problems all weekend, but the temporary service I was using couldn't bring up dvxuser.com at all. Finally in a burst of inspiration (or was it desperation) late on Sunday night, I tried a proxy service (The Cloak) and found I could get through. My computer at work gets through just fine. Maybe a problem with some domains or IPs being restricted?
 
I thought I was the only one, a couple days ago I couldn't get on at home, tried at work and it was fine. Now I can get on at home again, as of last night.

I wasn't sure if the site went down or what happened.
 
Unfortunatly, the new improved version of this site is much less user friendly than the old unimproved site.......
 
Well, *this* is just peachy. I'm sitting with my laptop in the parking lot of Panera Bread, so I can use their free wifi connection to get on dvxuser. I can no longer get through to this site from home and trying the direct IP address didn't help either.:( Something is definitely mucked up here and *I'm* going through withdrawal.

Mines working fine, and I like the new design. I even defended Jared last weekend when lots of people were bitching. I'm just pissed cause I have a BAD REPUTATION! You know those little stars under your name, where everyone has 3 or 4? Well, I'm the ONLY person on here with 2!! All because I made a half joking comment. Some guy started a thread that he has 6 PCs, and is thinking about starting to edit, and what should he do? Several people gave him some pretty good answers, so, being a Mac person, I half jokingly said, "Sell the 6 PCs, buy a Mac and FCP, and you'll be eternally happy," and someone actually took the time to complain and give me a bad report! Now really, is that bad enough to give me the ONLY 2 star rating on the whole entire site?? Geez, lighten up, I was only kidding...
 
That is totally wrong! I read the post myself and saw no problem with it. I can't Believe anyone would take the time to report you for that....Man! That blows me away. Are these report anonamous? I sure hope not, because if you are gonna tear someone up for a stupid reason like that you should at least have to do it facing them otherwise it's like shooting someone in the back. We are not amused!
 
Thanks Mino. I agree. And yeh, from what I can tell its totally anonymous. Oh well, I'm over it. NBD. Anyone that would ***** about that, must have other issues too. I'm just afraid that if its that easy to anonymously give someone a bad "reputation" this great place might turn into a slamfest for some people. Oh well, if it does, we'll probably all end up with zero stars, then we'll all be even again!
 
For something like that, there should be a way to have a mod overturn the system and replace reputation. Otherwise it's too tempting to have a bad bay and whap a couple of users stars to feel better! Let's face it a mind with too much bad noise in it can interpret a lot of weird stuff from the simplest of statements. The way I see it as it stands, this rep/star system could turn uglier than a michael moore discussion!
 
I gave you good marks for your last post ppt, and I think the mods should be able to view the reports and decide if they are valid. and they shouldn't be anonymous. If you've got the stones to say it, you should have the stones to back it up.
 
this ones not my fault.. AT&T has had a router down all weekend so some ISP's cant hit the site.. some can some cant.
 
Thanks Jarred, I suspected as much because everything was working fine right after the upgrade. I edited my HOSTS file and I've got things working now. AT&T? You'd think they could send someone down to CompUSA to buy another router fer chrissake.
