dvxuser keeps logging me out

anyone else have this problem? i'll log in, go to a different page, try to post and i get a page making me log in again. within seconds of just having logged in. sometimes when i log in it takes me directly back to the login page again. i think it might be a problem with the forum software used by dvxuser, because the macrumors forums uses the same thing and i get the same problem there. i'm using firefox.

does anyone know of a browser setting i can check?
 
using firefox 3, but had the same problem with 2. cookies on.

funny thing is, this only seems to happen on my pc, but not my mac.
 
I'm using Firefox 3 on PC at work and Firefox 2 on PC at home ... never had this issue with either.

Have also logged in via IE 4, 5, & 6 on PC at various times and never had this issue.

Anhar is probably right, you need to check your cookie settings.
 
i don't think it's a cookie thing. my settings look good there.

i searched around on some other forums using the same software. someone mentioned that if they add 'www' to the front of the url this doesn't happen. i did that, and it hasn't logged me out for a few hours now. maybe that was the problem.
 
well after scanning my cookies I noticed DVXuser comes does indeed come under two "sets":

for

www.dvxuser.com:

4 cookies with:

bblastactivity
bblastvisit
bbpassward
bbuserid

with

dvxuser.com:

8 cookies:

_qca
_utma
_utmb
_utmz
bblastactivity
bblastvisit
bbpassward
bbuserid

I'm speculating that since the site auto redirected to dvxuser (without WWW) then it is the www.dvxsuer.com cookies that hold the primary login details which are then directed to the dvxuser.com cookies afterwards.
 
that makes sense. nice research there. i never would have even considered the no 'www' being a problem if it wasn't for the other post i found. regardless. i've been logged in all day (once i found that post), and haven't been logged out.
