DVX200 audio difference between Xlr input 1 and 2.

Thank you so much. That’s good news. Even on the MacBook they sound different. From what your saying, the camera is ok.
It must be what I’m doing on playback.
With your help I’ve learned a lot including wetransfer .
It’s great that you can confirm that both inputs and channels are the same.
Very grateful that you could be bothered to help out a learner.
Many many thanks
Alistair

Just double and triple-checked and there is a tiny bit more high-frequency on input 1 when you increase the dB past acceptable levels (is that the input you're hearing it from?), but you'd really have to listen for it.

May I ask which mic? (In my experience, cheap microphones may produce this sound randomly sometimes.)

Maybe we are not using the correct terminology, but when I compare the very little ambient noise/room tone (during when you pause speaking) by increasing the 8kHz band in the NLE and then play inputs 1 and 2 one after another, there is a high-pitched sound in input 1.

I said 'pause speaking'. When you took very short pauses (and didn't say anything), I was able to listen to the ambient sound and hear the difference better.

Normally, when you do an audio test you should record a few seconds of just the room as well for additional testing (with no speaking).

I wouldn't worry about it. This is a normal quality control threshold.

Millions of cameras are built around the world and they just all can't be the same and all perfect.

If it's really bothering you, you can try to get it exchanged (every situation is handled differently by companies), and hope both inputs are perfect but then you may have some other quirk in the replacement. Or maybe they can just fix them.

I get that now. I should have done ambient audio, another thing learned.
I’m satisfied that you heard the same from both inputs.
Thank you for helping and teaching me so much.
Worth it just to learn.
Many many thanks
Alistair
