DVX200 4k 50p 8bit output downscaling

Hi Guys

I just wanted to check to see if its a setting i have turned on or if it's normal functionality. I am outputting the HDMI to my Atomos Shogun inferno, setting in camera are 4k50p 8bit. Trouble happens when i hit record on the DVX the output suddenly downscales to 1080p to the Shogun, this only happens when I'm in 4k50p and not when in 4k25p. I am guessing that you cannot record 4k50p 8bit internally and output 4k50p at the same time? I know you cannot record 10bit internally but i am able to record 4k25p internally and out 4k25p externally at the same time.

I am primarily doing this as a backup, simultaneously recording to both internal SD cards and recording to the Shogun in ProRes as my master working files.

The DVX200 cannot output UHD/50P while simultaneously recording UHD/50P. So you get one or the other -- either internal recording, or live output. You can't have both. The behavior you describe (it dropping to 1080p during recording) is 100% normal.
