DVX102a New Boy needs help please

Good evening all,
I would firstly like to say what a fantastic site you have here. like a sick voyeur I have been keeping an eye on it for a few weeks. I am being drawn away from the XL2 and am being seduced by the sweet little DVX. I have been going round in circles as to where to buy one from, and then I stumble on somewhere talking about the DVX102a. Here is the web address

If anyone could let me know what it is I would be greatful. And there was me thinking buying one would be the easy bit.

That's nothing probably an error as the page doesn't link to anything now. on there main page they refer to the 100a . look at EVS.com and mention to Rush the your a DVX user and you'll get a great price. or look at the marketplace section on this board, there's alway's someone selling the camera and you'll probably get all your extra accessories for the price you'd pay for a new one. lots of the cams' only have 50 -80 hours on them which is more than acceptable.

Actually, the page links to a Japanese version of Panasonic's site and has a Panasonic brochure of the 102A. Not sure why it's got a different number than we are used to but I took a look at the new functionality section of the brochure and it's everything the 100A introduced and nothing more.

So for all intents and purposes, this is just the DVX100A.

From what I've heard the DVX102A is exactly the same as the DVX100A. It's named 102 in some regions of the world to deal with grey market imports. That way you can easily see if the camera is imported (DVX100A) or bought in country (DVX102A).

I believe Johan is correct, the camera's identical and is numbered differently for import/export tracking purposes. I thought the 102 was the model for the Chinese market only... so it's basically a PAL DVX100A.

True, all the specs look identical, and so do the photos.
