Dvx100bp?

I ordered a DVX100B from Willoughby's and on the box and on th model number of the camera it says AG-DVX100BP. Is that a normal DVX100B? I am just confused as far as the rebate and the accessories that should have been included. I received a blank MiniDV tape instead of the head cleaning cassette that should have been included, but I just want to make sure I got a normal camera with warranty and not a grery market camera.

Thanks!

Yeah, the BP is legit. I think the "P" stands for Pacific Ocean, which all NTSC countries border (Barry will know for sure). I also got the blank MQ tape, instead of the head cleaning cassette. But I also got Barry's DVX book, Magic Bullet v2, a free Impact case, and something else which I don't remember off-hand. I'll double check. You should be eligible for the $400 discount.

From what I understand the "P" stands for Progressive. You have to go online for the rebate (which ends March 31st, I think) and the book/DVD and Magic Bullet. You might want to check with Jan about the rebate, but I believe she said it's good until the end of March.

Also, do a search for rebate and you'll find a link to the site to fill it out.

All USA model numbers from Panasonic have a "P" at the end labeling it as a NTSC product. It has an "N" at the end if it's PAL.

The cleaning tape hasn't been shipped with the camera for a while. They have been including a new MQ tape.

Your rebate is online by filling out the form at this link.

I Don't think you have a gray market unit. You can check the dealer finder on Panasonic's website to check for sure.

Best regards,

I stand corrected...I could have sworn I read somewhere that is meant progressive as well.

Oh well, enjoy your new camera!

You’re not being facetious are you?

P for -N-tsc
N for –P-al

That’s so backwards! Are you sure?

Maybe the P stands for proline.

Anyway, when you go to the pany website and enter dvx100bp in search you get nothing.

Specifically what countries are ntsc? Japan, USA and?

To me it makes no difference as an Australian....... almost every TV sold since 1990 is NTSC compatible, along with DVD players. I just sent 20 NTSC DVDs to New Zealand and none had an issue, so NZ must be similar.
