Hi peolple,

i've made a new "test" clip with this setup:

DVX100be
SGpro
Nikon 50mm f1.2 at f2.0

No CC, just flip and slow motion in 2 clips.

70secs, H264 (480x270), 35.9mb

clip

Any thoughts/feedback is much appreciated.

really liked those shots. the focus pull really dropped out that bacground whic btw reminds me a lot of the rainforest here in PR. good stuff

Jesus wayne... i LOVE the colors that your adapter puts out.... always consistent, and your GG choice lends such a great quality to the footage. I am so happy with my SGpro.

And Ipos, make sure youre Detail setting is at +7, this will sharpen up youre footage. it looks a touch soft. also remeber to use CineGammaD, it will give you even more dynamic range and make it look even more film like.

Thanks a lot TimurCivan for your tips!

I have these settings:
Detail Level +7
V.Detail Level +7
Detail Coring 0
Chroma Level 0
Chroma Phase 0
Colour Temp 0
Master Ped -5
A. Iris Level 0
Gamma Cinelike
Matrix Norm1
Skin Tone Detail OFF
V Detail Freq Thin
25p

Do you suggest +7 also at the Detail Coring and what else will you change except th Gamma to Cinelike D?

Thanks a lot in advance!
I love SGpro too!!

:)

I don't know about suggesting +7 detail... I think it just adds some really ugly edge enchantment to the picture. I would brefer detail all the way down to -7 if you are looking for film look. In my opinion EE adds some really nasty video feel to the picture. I really don't know if DVX handles this somehow different than other cams as I haven't used one.

The footage looked nice to me. Nice to see some locations which aren't all dry (it's like living in a desert back here.)

No really it deosnt. Trust me ive done lots of tests. +7 is the way to go. The 35 adapter counteracts the edge enhancement.

I'll post in 5mins a new video (new thread) with these settings:
Detail Level +7
V.Detail Level +7
Detail Coring +7
Chroma Level 0
Chroma Phase 0
Colour Temp 0
Master Ped -5
A. Iris Level 0
Gamma Cinelike D
Matrix Norm1
Skin Tone Detail OFF
V Detail Freq Thin
25p

Results are even better!
:)

Thanks a lot!
