Hello,
Sorry if this topic has already been beaten to death with a stick but even after reading all posts concerning working with 25P in FCPro I still have some questions.
First, I have not gotten my camera yet (still have to wait 2 weeks) but I really want to understand the technical background before filming anything.
Capturing:
Simple Caputre with the PAL DV Preset since, although recorded as 25P it gets saved as 50i to tape. I understand that
Sequence & Render Settings:
In some posts I read that all you have to do is to make sure that the sequence and render settings are set to progressive. So does this mean that I import the clips (interlaced) and put them in a progressive timeline?
Exporting with compressor to H.264 or MPEG4:
If I do a final export for the web to H.264 do I need to tell compressor to create a progressive file or can I ignore it. The way I understand it is that compressor normally gets the info from the source material.
Last question:
Is it possible that someone with a DVX100?E can put up some raw 25p material so that I can play around a little bit. 10 seconds with motion would be enough to run some tests and make myself familiar with the workflow.
