Hi, i recently upgraded from a DVX100 to DVX100B. I went on a shoot yesterday with it. I was shooting outdoors on a overcast day but everything looked really gray, faces loooked very pale it was like i hadnt white balanced properly. Could there be something wrong with the chips? before that i was shooting with the DVX100 and i never had this problem. Anyone know whats up?

Could be a number of things. Try changing your scene file settings. If it was a brand new cam I doubt there are chip issues. I would try that first and properly white balancing before sending it back.

yeah already tried changing the scene file settings, to be honest they hardly made any difference. Im even wondering if they are set correctly. Should i do a factory reset?

Thanks Jdmoviemaker, that actually worked. I 'm lookin through my different scene files and there aint much of a difference between each of them, i dont think their set right. I know it a big ask but could someone please list the settings of each of the scenes? i dont think mine are right. Cheers.

What do you think is the problem with the settings?
If you got the dvx new the scene settings should be at default & be just fine.
The best thing to do is learn what each setting does & you can find them in your manual.
Or if you really want to learn you can get the DVX Book. I recently got it myself
it THE BOOK for the dvx.
It will help you with everything that you need to know.

ill give you my personal favorite which i custom made for 24p/30p outdoor shooting:

a iris lvl: 0

there is a whitel balance and Black balance (?) but did you do the both?
I read that you have to do the black balance when you first set your camera.
