DVX100B Tripod Questions

I have my DVX100B and I LOVE IT!, im now looking for a decent tripod. Any suggestions, what are you used to using?
 
Do you have (or intend on having) your DVX "loaded" with any extra accessories in future?
Things like matebox, rails, 35mm adapter, wireless transceiver etc?
That will be a worthwile consideration in mahing sure that you don't underspec the tripod/head :)
 
Well, eventually a mic. no 35mm adapter or anything like that, maybe in a few years. Im looking for something sturdy enough and smooth enough to just do everyday filming.
 
Bogen 501 tripod head is a real winner, probably just right for you. A 503 head would stay with you if you moved up to bigger cams in the future.
 
If possible see if you can test out and compare the 501 and 503. I've used both and have not enjoyed the 501 at all. I think the 503 is worth every extra penny.
 
In Canada the 501 is around $750 and the 503 is around $870. Im not sure if i want to spend this much

Wow! That is some serious coin for those heads considering you can get the 501 and the 055XPro legs from B&H for around $350. They're a decent setup and if you order from B&H (or wherever) you'd still come out cheaper with duty added on.

Im going to Toronto this weekend and was planning on picking one up. $385 just for the head is a lot, I want the legs to.
