DVX100b..."The DVX Book"??

I just bought my DVX100b and don't know a lick about
how to use a camcorder..lol I'm an actor primarily but am eager to learn
how to use this camera for shooting.....
What would you recommend me do in learning how to use it...I'm
almost afraid to start pushing buttons as I don't know all these
technical terms...So I've been reading the Manual and learning a little...

Would you recommend me purchase the DVX book by Barry Green??? And what can I expect to learn from it??

:dankk2:

I have heard nothing but good things about the Barry Green DVX book, need to get myself a copy actually. So yes, get it.

Get it...its the BIBLE..plus my advice to you is to make this forum your classroom..there's everything you need around here..

:2vrolijk_08:Thanx so so much guys! This makes me excited now I have a place
to learn more and more...Its reminds me of when I was in college and wanted to learn about growing herbs and found a great site:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)
Can't wait to get the book...

All I need now is a case to carry it around in...
you recommend a hardcase or something like a Kata??

well i use a kata 205...but many other cases and backpacks are there(ogio and dakine come to mind). type in camera bag or backpack in the search function, or any of the brands, kata, ogio, dakine and see what comes up.

Also try and do a search before you ask cuz chances are whatever your gonna ask has been asnwered many times b4. Not trying to desuade u from asking stuff...but its a good way to get stuff answered and learn ALOT.

The thin book is indispensable, I got it free with the purchase of my camera, although it arrived separately and late, it's an excellent beginners reference book.

It tells you everything (and more) that you wish the owners manual had told you.
After you read it and after you start going out and experimenting with your camera, you may find that you want to go back and re-read it. I did, 3 times! I cannot imagine learning that camera without that book.

Somebody might. Try the Marketplace. Wouldn't be surprised if somebody has upgraded to HD and still has the DVX book laying around. You might even search that forum and check if any of the old ads did not post as sold. Be a great way to get a deal on that book/dvd combo.
btw--if you are stoked about getting the book, that's good. You'll be even more stoked once you start learning your camera and seeing the results of it. The DVX is beautiful!.
