DVX100B stanby mode

Hi,

I'm a recently new owner of the DVX100B, and have been very impressed with the camera. I have been using Betacam-type cameras before, and on them you can switch between "standby"-mode, meaning that the camera is on but recording head is not spinning, and "pause" -mode, when the recording head is spinning and the camera is ready to start recording. In the DVX, there is also these two modes, but when you put on the camera it sets itself to "pause", ready for recording, and after a few minutes goes to standby.

Now, my question is, does anyone know if there is a way to set the camera to "stanby"-mode manually? It's quite often that I'm setting up the shot and the camera is on "pause" for the first few minutes, which wears out the recording head and the tape (and adds to the mileage counter, I guess). I would prefer to set it to "pause" -mode manually just before recording.

Thanks!

No, the only choices you have are whether it goes into pause mode after five minutes, or whether it powers itself off. On the 100B the menu item is called "power save".
