I'm trying to figure out how many foot candles are needed to illuminate a subject at approximately 70-80 IRE using the DVX100B. This is with 24pA, wide open iris, 1/48 shutter, no gain, all normal gamma, matrix, etc From what I've heard, the so-called ASA of most video cameras changes depending on the f-stop, however I'd still like to know this so I can get an idea which fixture to grab when lighting a scene. My estimate is the DVX100B needs around 140 foot candles based on using my 150w fresnel 5 feet away from subject (the fixture is supposed to give 160 foot candles at 5ft) can anyone that happens to have a light meter give me a more exact measurement or confirm this?
