I need to get more length out of my tapes for legal videos....LP mode will help but I heard this could damage the heads due to "pressure".... Anything i should be aware with when filming in LP mode on a DVX100B
It won't damage anything. However, LP mode is riskier to use because it crams more data into smaller space on the tape. It will usually work out okay, but your footage will be more prone to dropouts. Also, LP mode isn't guaranteed to be interchangeable among cameras; what you film in LP mode may only play back properly in that same camera, and won't necessarily play back in any other camera or deck. It might, but it might not.
