DVX100B - questions on shooting...

Hi,
I've got a great DVX100B and would love to get some great shots like I've seen; clear, sharp pictures with excellent color.

I don't have any training in this and was hoping that I could get some help here. This is what I've run into.

I have a clear filter on it (hoping to just protect the lens from scratches) now and have tried both full auto and manual mode. I've messed with the ND, white balance, etc... but I can't seem to get anything close to what you would see in the movies...

For example, this web page shows some very colorful, very focused, clean shots. I would love to be able to get shots like this...

What am I missing?

Thanks,
David

From some of their behind the scenes shots it looks like what you're missing is a film camera.

Without some grabs or clips from what you're shooting it's going to be difficult for anyone to give you any clear advice on how to improve your shots.

If you can post some examples, then we'll have something specific to reference.

Does anyone know if a good resource to learn how to use my DVX100B to get the best possible shots?

My manual doesn't help at all.

Maybe a book at barnes and noble or something that would be available to me quickly?

Thank you,
David

David,

If you are in the US then your DVX should have come with a rebate that gets you a copy of Barry's DVX book. If not, then I would suggest buying it - it's a great resource.

You can get it here

I also think you can learn quite a bit by posting some samples and getting feedback from users here.

Best of luck, and congrats on the new camera.
