dvx100b & pinnacle 11 with Vista

Please Help! I can not capture a live feed from my dvx100b to my laptop using the firewire and Vista. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Again!
 
Sounds like the computer is recognizing that there is a firewire connection but the camera side is bad. Could be your cable, or it could be a damaged firewire port on the camera. Make sure that when you connect the camera to the computer that the camera is always off. Idealy the camera and the computer should both be off... but if you can be careful and make sure that you connect the computer end first and that the cable is connected correctly then you should be ok to go ahead and connect the camera. but always have the camera off when connecting it.

Try troubleshooting it. Try to narrow down where the problem really lies. Try connecting a different camera with the same cable. If it works then you know that it is your camera. If it doesn't then its somehting either with the cable or the computer.
