DVX100B officially announced

$3995 MSRP is the same as the DVX100A was, and the DVX100A had around $3400 street, so yes, it seems reasonable to expect the DVX100B will be comparably priced.

I like the idea of seeing the 16:9 image in the viewfinder instead of the squeezed. My buddy has the XL2 and seeing the 16:9 image is kick.

So Magic bullet "and" the DVX book and DVD. Not bad. We lose a little $$ on the rebate in comparison to the DVX100a but the few new features seem worth it to me.

I'm making a last minute decision between the 100a and the 100b. Would it be fair to say that because the 100b has the same list price, its replacement of the 100a at, say, EVS, it will also be priced the same (approx. $3,450), and that the only real difference would be the rebate (from $500 on the 100a to $200 for the 100b)?

If that is the case, I think I'll probably choose the 100a, because to me, I'd rather not sacrafice $300 for the changes made.

Can't speak for what EVS will list it at, but two posts above yours you can see what Abel Cine Tech is offering it at: $3445. So yes, it certainly seems fair to expect it to be priced comparably to the 100A.

Barry, when the 100a came out after the 100, I believe there was a price increase of a few hundred dollars, based on what I've heard. So I'm surprised that the 100b has actually remained the same price. Was the 100a also selling for $3,445 before at the Abel Cinestore, or was it slightly lower pricing?

Also, does the $200 rebate include all of those accessories found in the old rebate for the 100a, like your DVD+book, Magic Bullet, etc., and will Magic Bullet 2 be replacing the first edition? Abel Cinestore does not mention any accessories or stuff included with the $200 rebate.

The 100 was $3795, the 100A came out at $3995. So yes, it's a little surprising that not only is the 100B available at the same price, but it also includes a rebate right off the bat too!

As far as confirming other stuff in the package, that's a question for Panasonic marketing people to answer. I don't know what all they may include, although in the Abel package they mentioned that the DVX Book/DVD and the Magic Bullet would continue to be bundled. I would assume their information is accurate, but until we hear confirmation from Panasonic US, that remains an assumption on my part. Don't know if that rebate includes the battery and/or tapes, I would assume not since the 100B includes that battery anyway.

Thanks Barry. I think I'm sticking with my original decision, and that is to purchase the 100a because of this $300 price difference. Although Sean from Red Giant has stated that Magic Bullet 2.0 will be included in the 100b (in box), I don't think there is much of a difference between the two for me to change my mind.

One last question: is there a deadline for when I need to submit the rebate form? It only mentions the deadline for the purchase date; I'm afraid that once the DVX arrives, it'll be too late for me to send in the form.

We will be comparably priced with Abel. We are not competing with such a fine dealer, but will offer the same price so that customers can choose who to business based on personal preference. :) We have 30 100B's on order, coming in as fast as their little feet can carry them

We just got 100B's instock. Can't wait to throw some in rentals and see how they do.
