DVX100B mosaic patterns

So i've had the DVX100b for 3 months...about 60 hours of footage rolled...and i'm having problems with mosaic patterns and blue block patterns in some footage. I say some because it doesn't happen ALL the time but lately it has been a big problem. Sometimes I see the red 'x' circle and sometimes I don't. We've done all the conventional troubleshooting from head cleaners to professional cleaning...and we just had the problem pop up again today...a day after getting it professionally cleaned. The only other thing I can think of besides the camera being faulty are the tapes...we were previously using the MQ's (master quality) but dropped down to the PQ's (professional) due to costs..the only problem with that idea is we have a DVC 30 as a backup and it doesn't have problems with the lower grade tape, or with mosaic patterns at all..anyone have any idea what could be going on or should I send the camera back???

Thanks

Your heads are dirty. Get a cleaning tape, run it in your DVX in Play Mode, and hit play for 10 seconds. This will clean all of that blocky stuff.

bboy,

Three month old camera? Squeeky clean heads, and still the mosaic? Take it back. It's under warranty! Get a shiny, new one.

Cheers,

John

I had a dvx that had the tape warning icon come up, I tried cleaning with a cleaning tape, and then with head cleaner and it still wouldn't go away. I finally had to take it to authorized repair for a cleaning to clear up the problem.

I recently took a trip to Ghana, Africa with a brand new DVX100b and I experienced the red x with blue bar pattern recorded across the image on play back. Initially, the red x appeared every other time I tried to record and it does it all the time. I used a cleaning tape and that doesn't help. The condition in Ghana was very hot and dusty. However I didn't expect the dvx to be so fragile. I will now send it for service work at the Panasonic Service Center in Kansas.
