so i finaly got my dvx100b!! yay! and so anyway, im new to the camera and have tons to learn but today me and my friend went out on our boards and filmed a little so i could get to know some of the settings, i filmed it all in 24p and i threw this together. http://www.gameroom.com/grieder/charlie24p.mov

comments, suggestions, tips, beside the fact that i have the most shakey hands a human being has had, what else can i improve on? this is my first time using a 3ccd camera.

If this is your first time using the camera I have to say I'm impressed. I like the look of the video. The shakyness contributes to the look also.

What did you do for CC?

The shot of your friend's face at 01:12 maybe is a little grainy. Other than that, it's thumbs up!

thanks norbort, for the color correction i just used final cut and zipped through it real fast just bringing up the highlights and bringing down the darks to make some contrast. since im new to the camera that shot of his face i was messing with some settings and had braught the "detail level" up, i think that is why it looks grainey.

This kinda stuff always amazes me. So you like ride your skateboard while filming with the DVX? Nothing like putting a $3,000+ camera at total risk. And then...it's like you're what......18 years old? So we have 18 year olds buying $3,000+ cameras and then riding around with them on their skateboard. Amazing!

Oh yes....great shots!

nice!!!

That guy had some nice switch tricks in his lines. The nollie heelflip was one of my favorite tricks some time ago. Very nice!!!

im actualy 16 years old lol but yes i get real scared when i skate with it just being paranoid i will fall with it. real scary. i need to get insurance just incase that ever happens.

I've been a freelance photographer all my life (and that's a long time) and it's been my sole source of income. I work mostly outdoors and in rough terrain. I have fallen many times, and as the fall was happening (slo mo of course) my only concern was for the camera making my body naturally be the only object that took on any damage.

I did drop a battery pack for a 70mm film camera out of helicopter once.....I wasn't going to take the fall for that one.

i was switching them through the day, trying all the different settings. i dont know exactly what im doing yet, im just going by what looks good

I tripped and fell with my SLR camera ($1450) in gravel once. Without thinking I held the camera up to protect it. Try that if you fall, your elbows will hurt like hell but the camera will still work. :D

Nice video!

The part when your moving next to him on the skateboard is cool.

but with a DVX100b in your hand, Your certainly a braver guy than me!

keep it up

DAk:thumbsup:
