DVX100B and Interval Recording?

so let me get this straight, There will be interval on the 100b right? I use interval pretty often on my 100 and I'd hate to see that function go. I think adding some new interval times would have been pretty nice too.

The B does not have any make or break features compared to the A IMO. If Interval Recording is such a major issue; then get the A.

Wrong. There is no interval function on the 100B.

There is one-shot record mode, so you can tell the camera to record a burst of frames and automatically stop itself. But there is no way to tell it to automatically trigger itself to record those bursts at certain intervals. Interval recording is something that the 100 and 100A did, but the 100B does not do.

Isn't interval record putting quite some stress on the camera, especially the tape-stuff?
Is that why they took it out?

Thats weird that they took that out. Should I just get the A? Is B a better choice? I've read the specs. I'm in Canada so I dont get any of the extra bonuses with the A. (Rebate, software etc) They're basically the same price for either. How better is the SMALL difference in pic between the A and B. I've read all the reports on the B but I'd like some pro's opinions.

The "B" is a substantially better camera than the "A", unless you need interval recording. If you need interval, the "A" is the ticket, no doubt. If you don't need the interval recording, the "B" stands for "Better". As far as picture quality difference, I think it's pretty minimal. There is lower noise, yes, but it's not exactly a night-and-day difference. But hey, if you don't like noise, you'll like the "B" Better than the "A".
