Dvx100b and fce question

Hey guys,

I have a DVX100B and FCE that I am going to be working with later this week. I want to capture straight from the camera without tape. I have done this with other cameras and the DVX100B is great so I'm sure there will be no problems. My question is, will the camera shut off if there is no tape in the camera to record to? I will direct capture in Final Cut Express.

Thanks for the help and sorry if this has been addressed somewhere else. I did search!

DVX has no "standby" mode. It will remain ready to roll as long as it has power. I've done multi-day timelapses with mine hooked up to my computer with no issues.
