The DVX100B is a great camera but it can't compare to the picture quality of the JVC. I was blown away by the picture quality when I was sent a DVD shot from an HD100U.

The DVX will be better in low light, but when you shoot progressive modes, I don't think it is dramatically better. If you shoot interlaced then yes, much better. But then why would you be considering those two cams if you want interlace?

Jay Jay, I used both cameras on a documentary a few weeks ago. The director didn't want to use the HD100 because he prefers his DVX100a, but the DVX100a he rented was having iris problems so we had to use my HD101. I tried to match colors on both cameras, they weren't exactly equal but very similar. I made lots of tests and found that the definition of the HD101 is far superior. According to Tim Dashwood you can set the camera parameters in such a way that it will have better performance in low light than the DVX100. From what I've seen in 25P mode, there's almost no difference between both cameras. Besides that, the HD100 is easier to operate. Better manual focus, better iris control... I see no reason for you to use the DVX100.
