Only 3 hours use for some testing, the poor guy has never even been outside. I purchased a DVX Andromeda system shortly after I bought this new from B&H, so it's been sitting in the closet ever since. The Sagemax 3-Year Service Warranty expires 7/14/2011 and is transferable to the new owner. They will also extend it in some cases. I'll cover shipping and insurance in the continental US, buyer pays any additional shipping/insurance cost or customs fees to other locations.

This is the PAL version! I decided on the PAL format because there are several advantages over the NTSC (see also "When 25p Beats 24p" http://provideocoalition.com/index.php/lightscameraaction/story/when_25p_beats_24p3/)

- higher resolution than the NTSC model (720x576 - 470,000 pixels compared to 720x480 - 410,000 pixels, that's 768x576 vs 640x480 as square pixels)

- more accurate chroma subsampling (4:2:0 compared to 4:1:1)

- and no clunky pull-down removal! You could even capture and edit with iMovie while maintaining progressive video from start to finish if you were so inclined. Those lucky Europeans...

PAL support is pretty much standard on most LCD and Plasma screens these days, and of course makes no difference on your computer.

Same parts and packaging as purchased new with the exception of the blank Panasonic cassette (not included) and the original battery. The included CGR-D16 battery is a lower capacity than the original. Both the American and European AC cords are included.

• Sagemax Extended Service Warranty good 'till 7/14/2011
• Panasonic AG-DVX100BEN "PAL" System Camera
• Panasonic CGR-D16 Li-ion Battery
• AC Adapter/Battery Charger
• American AC Cable
• European AC Cable
• DC Cable
• Wireless Remote Control
• Viewfinder Eye Cup
• Microphone Holder
• Shoulder Strap
• DVX User Manual
• All Original Boxes and Packaging

$1500 USD and that includes shipping and insurance in the continental US.

Hi- I don't do any editing whatsoever but I'll try and answer as best I can. The PAL 25p workflow can be simpler in many instances because you don't have the extra step of dealing with pulldown removal like you would with 24p NTSC. The NTSC DVX records duplicate frames or split frames in a 60i signal in 24pA or 24p mode that need to be removed to be true progressive. 25p PAL is recorded over a 50i timeline, so there's no need for duplicate or split frames that need to be removed.

24p and 25p can be mixed in a project, but one or the other will first need to be converted to whatever the projects format is. Check these out for workflow and converting options:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/24p

And again, I have very limited experience with post and editing software, so you may want to start a new thread if those links don't help explain what I'm surely explaining very poorly. :)
