My camera keeps turning off automatically. I noticed this with another DVX camera. What is going on. It happens with the battery and the AC.

Go into the menu > 7. Other Functions > Tape Protect > STBY

That will keep your camera from powering down after 5 minutes of non recording. What it'll do now is just disengage the tape heads.
 
I laughed when I saw DVX-100a on the top of the OTHER CAMERAS thread. I was even more confused to see it in the 16mm, 35mm Film camera thread. :( Good luck with your problem. I hope its a standby issue. Next time you might try posting in a relevant thread.
